Origins of the name Shaolin Temple of BooM

When I was a kid, I was a huge kung fu and sci fi movie junkie, I loved anything Shaw Bros so at around 12 years of age when I was thinking about a name to give my music in the form of a band, I called it "Shaolin Temple of BooM" which to me meant kung fu of music, BooM meaning the beat. I stuck with it ever since and liked it because it didn't take itself too seriously yet was serious all at the same time. It is tongue in cheek, a play on words, for "Temple of Doom", but for the most part what it means to me is taking music to another level within myself and always seeking to build upon what you have and what you think you know, much in the same way Shaolin monks seek to go beyond themselves in their abilities and what is thought to be possible. I saw this video today and it reminded me why I named my band and music...
